Guess what I got?

Kaoru's Art World Guess what I got

A while back a got a step-counter app for my smart phone.
(If you are ready, click HERE for Part 2)

As an artist, I can spend extended periods of time sitting
and focused on art work.

And repeated long hours of sitting can do damage
to the body.

And I need to stay strong and healthy.

So I have this step-meter to make sure I am walking
and moving enough.

So…

Let’s look at the benefits of walking.

1.Improves cardiovascular health:
Walking is a great form of aerobic exercise that strengthens the heart
and circulatory system. Regular walking can help lower blood pressure,
reduce the risk of heart disease, and improve overall cardiovascular health.

2. Aids in weight management:
Walking burns calories and can contribute to weight loss or weight
maintenance when combined with a balanced diet. It helps to boost
metabolism and increase muscle mass, which further supports weight
management efforts.

3. Enhances bone and joint health:
Walking is a weight-bearing exercise that helps strengthen bones and improve
bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures. It also promotes
joint flexibility and lubrication, which can alleviate joint pain and stiffness.

4. Boosts mood and reduces stress:
Engaging in a brisk walk triggers the release of endorphins, the “feel-good”
hormones that promote a sense of well-being and happiness. Walking
outdoors in nature or green spaces can have an additional calming effect,
reducing stress and anxiety.

5. Improves cognitive function:
Regular walking has been linked to improved cognitive function and memory.
It enhances blood flow to the brain, stimulates the growth of new neurons, and
may help reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia.

So there we go.
Lots of great benefits.
