The Strandbeest

“The Strandbeest” is a Dutch term that translates as “Beach Animal”

And “Strandbeests” are the creation of Theo Jensen.
A Dutch Scientist turned artist.

Theo Jensen is always at work on how to improve
his creations to roam the beaches.

They look like this:

The “Stradbeests” are constructed from:

-PVC piping
-wood-fabric airfoils
-and even zip ties

He has shows around the world, and
my husband and I recently went to one
here in Japan.
